Apart from the lions, the big cats are not common when compared to other sizeable wildlife in Kenya like Giraffe, and Elephant. The only area where one can see plenty of them together with a variety of wildlife is in Masai Mara. Rhinos and the African wild-dog are also rare. The wildebeest and zebras put on a show through the great migration.
The tropical location of Kenya rules out as a different summer and winter, but it has clear wet and dry season. June to October (Dry season) are the best bet for watching wildlife. It is when the bush thins out, making animals tend to be visible as they go to the nearest waterhole. It is also when the wildebeest and zebra pass through. November to May (Wet season) have their attractions.
